Purpose and Vision
Founded by Kenn Collier Sr. and Armon Rashod, the center was inspired by a desire to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. Originally launched in 2024 as a clothing store and content studio, the initiative evolved into a comprehensive youth empowerment hub following the tragic loss of Kenn Collier Jr. to gun violence in January 2025. This pivotal event intensified the founders' commitment to creating opportunities that break cycles of poverty and violence, fostering a future of purpose and success for the youth.
Programs and Offerings
The center offers a variety of free programs designed to equip youth with practical skills and creative outlets:
-
Weekly Workshops: Hands-on sessions in fashion design, videography, photography, and entrepreneurship, aimed at building confidence and competence in creative industries.
-
Youth Fashion Shows: Quarterly events that provide a platform for young designers, models, and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and products.
-
After-School Enrichment: Programs focusing on fashion, photography, podcasting, and youth entrepreneurship, conducted at the center's headquarters.
Community Engagement
The Trenches Global Impact Center emphasizes community involvement through volunteer opportunities in mentorship, workshop facilitation, event support, and more. Additionally, the center actively seeks donations to sustain and expand its programs, aiming to raise funds for resources such as sewing machines, art supplies, and operational costs.
